10 Amazing Chicken Flatbread Recipes
What happens when you put chicken and flatbread together? Aside from the obvious answer of chicken flatbread, what are ten amazing recipes that make this merger a “wow” experience?
Flatbread History
According to Exodus from the Holy Bible, the Lord helped Moses and his fellow Hebrews flee the Egyptians. Since time was of the essence, the people packed up everything they had with haste. This included packing up dough that was prepared without yeast.
Since then, the Seven Days of Unleavened Bread became an annual tradition celebrated by observing members of the Christian and Jewish communities. Aside from its biblical and historical significance, unleavened flatbreads are a favorite food item that’s enjoyed worldwide.
Flatbread Variants
Not all flatbreads are made without yeast, however. Other favorite flatbreads include pizza crusts and pita bread. On average, a flatbread’s height measures between a millimeter to a few centimeters thick.
Aside from baking, flatbreads can also be fried in hot oil, grilled, or cooked on a griddle. This bread can be eaten fresh or packaged and frozen for later use. Flatbread remains a central source of food in rural communities, especially in the Middle East.
Because the design of a flatbread is the same as pizza, it can also be treated like a pizza. This has become more commonplace among foodies who’ve come to appreciate its versatility of it.
For individuals on a gluten-free diet, Chef’s Line Sweet Potato Flatbread makes a good option to go with.
