Eggnog Hot Chocolate Fudge Recipe with Marshmallows
Eggnog hot chocolate fudge is perfect for the holidays or for any other time! This fudge recipe is a popular one in our home during the holidays, and we think you’ll love it too!
Fudge can be used for holiday desserts, as homemade a gift for friends and family, gifts for teachers and coworkers, or just for a delicious treat for everyone to munch on.
By the way, if you’re looking for treats to include as a gift for friends and family, these mini brownie bites, Cadbury Creme fudge, and DIY grapefruit essential oil soap are all great choices.
Eggnog Hot Chocolate Fudge
If you like eggnog and hot chocolate, this fudge is a mix of the two and tastes ah-mazing!
Here is what you will need:
- 8 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 8 ounces of white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup softened butter, divided
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk, divided
- 1/4 cup eggnog
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- Dehydrated marshmallow nibs – optional (found in the baking aisle of your grocery store)
- 8×8 baking pan lined with parchment paper
- Cooking spray
These are the products I like to use when making fudge, you don’t need these to make it, these are what I use personally.
- Nordic Ware Prep and Serve Mixing Bowls – this is a set of 4 mixing bowls and I use them for everything.
- Holiday Bakery Boxes for gifting the fudge during the holidays
- 8×8 baking pan
- Silicone molds if you’d rather pour the fudge into molds instead
- Stainless Steel Multipurpose Scraper and Cutter to cut the fudge.
Let’s start with the semi-sweet chocolate fudge mixture
In a medium-size microwave-safe bowl (these Nordic prep and serve bowls are my favorite and I use them for everything) add 1/4 cup melted butter.
Pour in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and melt them in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Stir after each interval, and repeat until the chips are completely melted and smooth.
Once the chocolate chips are melted and smooth, mix in 7 ounces of the condensed milk.
Pour the chocolate mixture into an 8×8 inch baking pan that is lined with parchment paper. The parchment paper will allow the mixture to set and will make it a whole lot easier to get out of the pan.
Place the pan with the chocolate mixture in the fridge and allow it to chill until the fudge is firm. It’ll take about 30 minutes for the chocolate fudge to set.
White chocolate and eggnog mixture
While you’re waiting on that to set, we can go ahead and do the same for the white chocolate and eggnog mixture. This will be poured on top of the other mixture to create the two layers.
Take a medium-size microwave-safe bowl (luckily, my Nordic bowls come in a set of 4) and add 1/4 cup melted butter.
Just like we did with the semi-sweet chocolate, we are going to add in and melt white chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals.
Remember to stir after each interval, until the white chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
Once it’s melted, mix in 7 ounces of the condensed milk, then mix in the eggnog and the allspice.
Now it’s time to bring the two together!
Get the semi-sweet chocolate mixture out of the fridge and pour the eggnog mixture on top.
If you choose to include the small marshmallows, sprinkle the marshmallow bits on the top. Press them in gently so that they stay in place.
Put the pan back in the fridge until it is completely firm. It’ll take about 2 hours for everything to be set.
Cut and enjoy!
Cut the fudge any way you want it. I find it easier to place fudge on a cutting board as soon as I take it out of the fridge. Then I’ll use my multi-purpose chopper to cut the squares.
I always cut the fudge into 1 to 2-inch pieces, but you can cut them to whatever size you want.
This eggnog hot chocolate fudge may take a bit more time than regular fudge, but it’s worth it. Like I said above, you can omit the marshmallows if you want, but I think it compliments the hot chocolate taste.
