M&M Cookie Bars with Oatmeal and Chocolate Chips

These M&M cookie bars with oatmeal and chocolate chips are a family favorite around here! They’re great for the holidays, school treats, bake sales, parties, and other events where a dessert is needed.

  • 1 ½ c All-purpose Flour
  • 1 c Old-fashioned oats
  • ¾ tsp Baking Soda
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ c Butter, Softened
  • c Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ½ c Granulated Sugar
  • ½ c Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • ½ c Chocolate Bars (chopped into small pieces)
  • ½ c Chocolate Chips
  • 1 c M&M’s


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and the oats. Once those are all mixed together, set it aside.
  • In a mixing bowl with a paddle attachment, cream together the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until it’s fluffy and light in color. About 2 minutes.
  • Add in the vanilla, egg and egg yolk until fully mixed. Add in the dry ingredients we set aside early and then mix until everything is combined.
  • Add the chocolate chip bars, chocolate chips and m&m’s, blend until mixed in.
  • Press the batter into the baking dish we lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 14-16 minutes or until the edges are light brown in color.
  • Let bars cool in baking pan for 20-30 minutes.
