I’ve always enjoyed reading. Sometimes there just isn’t enough time in a day to get much reading done though. Usually, I prefer to have a physical book in my hand. A lot of times, I just can’t do that.
Often when we are at appointments or I’m waiting to see my Neurologist for my seizures (the wait can take so long!) I’ll want to read. I can’t always carry a book with me but I always have my phone.
Since I always have my phone I downloaded the Kindle app and tried out the KindleUnlimited subscription. You get your first month for free so I figured why not. It can’t hurt to see what it’s about.
I could at least give it a try right? We use all kinds of technology for homeschooling, including educational YouTube videos, and they love using YouTube Kids. Even though we use a lot of technology in our house, the kids are still learning that you need to “earn your screen time“, which I love that it’s worked out so well.
I wasn’t sure if I could actually stand reading a book on my phone. There just isn’t anything better than reading a physical book in my opinion! So I went searching for a book. I ended up trying a book called
Pancakes and Corpses by Agatha Frost. It’s the first release from the Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery Book Series.
I read the book in just a few days and couldn’t get enough. So I ended up reading the whole series! On my phone! I didn’t think I’d like it but I actually fell in love with the convenience of it.
If you like murder mystery type books that aren’t gory, maybe a little bit of a love story, etc. I would highly recommend checking out the series. I’m pretty excited to see the other books by Agatha Frost so I can read those as well.
There are so many books that you can find for the Kindle. If you prefer listening, there a lot of audiobooks available as well. Here are some fun Summer audiobooks that the entire family may enjoy.
Why I Love KindleUnlimited
- You don’t need to have a kindle to use it. You can simply download the Kindle app on whatever device you want to use.
- There are TONS of books included. Everything from thrillers to cooking books!
- You get 30 days to try it out for free. That’s plenty of time for you to decide if you like it. If you decide to keep it it’s only $9.99 a month after that. Well worth it if you enjoy reading.
- You can cancel at any time. So if I decide one month that I don’t need to use it, I can simply cancel. You can pick it back up at any time.
I know I’m probably late to the game when it comes to the KindleUnlimited. It’s been out for a little while but this was my first time trying it. I was always curious but I’m glad I finally tried it. Now I’m addicted!
If you like to read, this is definitely something to look into. Just use the link above (or this link) to get a 30-day free trial to see if you like it. If you don’t, no worries, just cancel it.
Amazon also has something similar for kids.
It’s called Amazon Freetime Unlimited. It’s a monthly subscription that gives unlimited access to thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, and games. There’s a free month trial you can get for that as well!
