My kiddos LOVE hot chocolate bombs and I have to admit, they are pretty cool to watch. When you place them in hot milk, you can watch them dance around as they melt.

Once melted, they will reveal your delicious hot chocolate mix and you can stir and enjoy. With the Easter hot chocolate bombs made with white chocolate, you get an extra bit of chocolate goodness mixed in with your hot chocolate.

Easter Hot Chocolate Bombs

Hot chocolate bombs also make fun gifts! You can use them as holiday gifts or in this case, fun Easter gifts for kids or friends and family.

Easter Hot Chocolate Bombs Recipe

  • 1 cup white melting wafers
  • 8 tbsp hot chocolate mix
  • Mini marshmallows
  • A small amount of white or chocolate melting wafers to drizzle ( I used white)
  • Pink and Green Candy Grass
  • Candy Bunnies for garnish

Additional Supplies: Chocolate mold (silicone tray)

**Makes 3-4 hot chocolate bombs – you can double or triple the recipe to make more. **

Instructions

1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir well and heat again for another 30 seconds. Repeat until the chocolate wafers are completely melted. Be careful not to overcook the chocolate.

2. Add 2 tablespoons of chocolate to each mold. Make sure to completely cover the molds by using the back of the spoon to spread. You will want to spread the chocolate evenly all the way up to the edges.

3. Place the mold in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes. You want your chocolate to be completely frozen before you go any further.

4. Carefully remove the chocolate half-spheres from the mold and place them on a baking sheet.

5. Fill 3 of the half-spheres with hot chocolate mix. Add a few mini marshmallows into each of the half-spheres.

6. Warm-up an empty plate by putting it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Place one of the empty chocolate sides on the warm plate to slightly melt the edges then quickly place it on top of the other side already filled with hot chocolate mix.  Repeat for the remaining pieces. You can use a bit of extra melted chocolate to “glue” the sides together if you need to.

7. Melt the white chocolate (or chocolate) in the microwave for 30 seconds or until melted and drizzle it on the chocolate bombs.

8. Garnish with the candy grass and one bunny.
